Hazem Galal
PwC Partner – Cities and Local Government Sector Global Leader
Hazem Galal is a PwC Partner and the global Leader for PwC’s Cities and Local Government Sector. He has worked with cities around the world such as New York, Amsterdam, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Astana, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Moscow and Sochi. Hazem has expertise in cities and local government strategy formulation, sustainable development and public sector reform. In this capacity, he has led PwC’s flagship city benchmarking publication, Cities of Opportunity, comparing global cities and “iUrban” on urban competitiveness on the impact of transformational projects on cities. He’s currently the co-chair for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development group that is contributing to the ISO standard for cities and smart infrastructure.
Egon de Haas
PwC Global Director – Government and Public Services
Egon de Haas works for PwC as the Global Director for the Government & Public Services Industry and is responsible for coordinating the work PwC does for government organisations around the world. Within PwC the Netherlands he is the champion for the megatrend Urbanisation and in this field he has worked with various city governments around the world to develop a view on the future development of their urban areas. Egon studied Management, Economics and Law (MER) at Avans Hogeschool Breda and got his master’s degree through a part-time study at Nyenrode Business University.
